Through this work I have been investigating the freedom and innocence of childhood. The planes simplified form and the paths they take across the panels are representations of the events and experiences one may encounter. Like the flight of a paper plane, the movements of a child are unabashed and controlled by nothing more then natural occurrences – a simple gust of wind can be a new movement or experience. When something so simple can cause such a dramatic shift in momentum everything is new and exciting. I hope that through the paths these planes take the viewer may be able to reestablish a connection with their own childhood and the gusts of wind that used to find them.
